Morgan Aurora Rose Taylor

Photos from the past thirteen weeks
(Posted on 1/2/2014)

This first set of photos comes from a pre-school field trip to McClane Creek.

Above: Miss Aimee and the class. Morgan is near the front, in her pink "puff-jacket".

Above: Morgan and her two pals, Clare (left) and Adi (right).

The salmon, back from their thousand mile swim, were spawning and expiring on the stream bank twenty feet away.
However, the slick and icy planks of the observation platform stole the show!

These photos are from our trip to Lattin's pumpkin patch:

Morgan and I went on a few long walks this fall.
These photos are from our trip to the Capitol Campus, here in Olympia.

Apparently, some of our walks are a little too long:

Some new artwork:

The theme for Christmas this year was music!

We spent a few days out at the coast around New Years:

Cynthia is the family's main clam gatherer.
Occasionally, Morgan would run out toward the surf for a hug.

Above: Morgan and Rhea.
For those of you who don't know, that thing is a "clam gun", which is used to dig razor clams out of the sand.
Morgan, Rhea and I found a spot where small young clams were easily found. These were two to three inches across. The full-grown ones are more like six inches across.
We dug a couple of these little ones up and then carefully placed them back in the hole.
They would extend thier foot, wriggle around a little, and then bury themselves again, spitting water out as they disappeared under the sand.
Morgan loved it!

Well, that's it for this one. I'll post again in a couple months.

I can't believe I used to do this every week!
